Congratulations! You all survived Milestones! I, (Mrs. Janney), talked with Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Hellman and both said that you were all working really hard!

Immigration Simulation Day was a great success!! We hope your student came home excited to share his/her experience as an immigrant processing through Ellis Island in 1917. A BIG THANK YOU to the parents who came to help that day! We could not have done it without you!!

An update about Immigration Simulation Day:
Friday, March 9th is Immigration Simulation Day. We are going over all of the research and documents that students have been finding and collecting. The students are very excited and have learned so much!!
I highly encourage the students, if they have not done so already, to visit the Scholastic website using the link below. It gives them information to help them prepare for the experience.
The students have a checklist that has served as a guide for preparing. They should have all of the documents completed and will be given their passport tomorrow if they did not get it today.
Also, we are in desperate need of parent volunteers for this event!! It is super easy and fun!! All you have to do is show up at 7:40. We will go over the instructions and hand out any materials you may need. We will finish by 10:00. Please consider helping out to make this experience successful and meaningful! If you are available, please email Mrs. Hellman at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible! Thank you!!
We are excited to implement a new web-based curriculum called MobyMax in our classroom. MobyMax is tailored to your child's individual needs, and I think you will be very impressed by how fast your child will excel while using Moby. Moby's features include:
-Placement tests that accurately identify where your child excels, and where his or her "missing skills" are
-Targeted instruction to "fill in" those missing skills
-Systematic review sessions that ensure that your child retains 100% of what he or she has learned
Best of all, your child can access Moby from your home computer at any time.
Login steps for [Student]
1. Please go to www.mobymax.com/signin
2. Enter School Code: ga1135
Username: *see parent letter in Thursday Folders (2/16)
Password: *see parent letter in Thursday Folders (2/16)
Once logged in, your child will immediately start the lessons and begin improving his or her missing skills.
You can sign in as a parent as well by selecting "As a Parent" and entering your child's username and password. You will be able to monitor your child's progress and even send messages to me.
At the end of the 9 weeks I will average together the scores for all of the assignments for an extra credit grade in Synergy. Students have access to assignments in Math, Science, and Social Studies.
