We are off and running! Students should have their supplies all set and organized for the each class.
Friday students received their agendas!! They must have this with them at all times during the school day. Students should also be copying down their homework in their agendas daily. The cost to replace lost or damaged agendas is $5. We also kicked off our new "House" colors. Very similar to Harry Potter, students are working together to earn the most coins for their House this 9 weeks. The House with the most coins at the end of each 9 weeks will have a "House Party!"
Starting today, Monday, students will begin earning Eagle Bucks for being to school on time and all day! They can also earn Eagle Bucks for going above and beyond and showing they know and follow the Eagle Expectations. Eagle points can be cashed in at our school store, Eagle Express, or saved for bigger prizes like Principal of the Day!
Thursday, August 18th is School Picture day! Flyers went home last Thursday. All students will have their picture made for the yearbook.

Both the writing workshop and reading workshop folders and notebooks are organized and students are using them in class daily. When they bring these materials home from school to complete assignments, take a minute to look through them and familiarize yourself with the strategies they are learning and using.
The students are looking forward to our first visit to the Learning Commons on Tuesday! They will be able to begin checking out books on a weekly basis or as needed. I hope you will soon be asked to sign an Eagle Eye on reading form!! Many students are finishing up their first book of the year.
